How women’s and children’s lives are being saved
See how CCFC is working with partners to improve maternal, newborn and child health in Africa
Approximately 830 women die from pregnancy- or childbirth-related complications daily and more than half of these deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa, according to the World Health Organization.
That’s why Christian Children’s Fund of Canada is working with ADRA Canada and Emmanuel International Canada to address the problem in Ghana, Malawi and Rwanda.
“We’re building capacities of nurses and doctors to train, we’re providing equipment, we’re renovating facilities,” explains Stephen Amoako, the chief of party of the Promoting Maternal, Newborn, Infant and Child Sustainable Health Efforts project.
Watch as Stephen discusses the transformative project and how 100,000 people will directly benefit.
