CCFC community safe following attacks in Burkina Faso
An update on the impact to the communities where we work
Children sponsored through Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC), their families and our staff are safe following the terrorist attack that killed nearly 20 people in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso yesterday.
It’s violence that António Guterres, United Nations secretary general, condemns. “The secretary general stresses that there can be no justification for such acts of indiscriminate violence,” said Farhan Haq, his deputy spokesperson in a statement. “He also reaffirms the organization’s commitment to the countries of the G5 Sahel as they scale up efforts to tackle multiple security challenges to promote peace and development in the sub-region.”
The people of the African nation continue to be in our thoughts and prayers at Christian Children’s Fund of Canada. And, we will continue to monitor the situation and assess risk.
