Inspiring children to learn in new ways
Teachers at Creative Learning Centres are leading games that teach math and language
Learning can take on many forms. In India, it usually consists of memorization and repetition, but that’s not the case in 85 Creative Learning Centres operating thanks to donors to Christian Children’s Fund of Canada.
The unique after-school program inspires children to play hip-hop games to learn math and fix puzzles to learn languages — they draw, sing and share poems while learning. “The centre helps me think differently,” affirms Swathi, a 10-year-old student in the program that supports 3,200 children. “The students who struggle in regular class learn the same subject easily here.”
