Heralding a new year, with more innovation and greater impact
What can we do better in 2017? Find out
By Dr. Douglas Ellenor

January is already here. It’s hard to believe the hustle and bustle of the holidays is behind us, but I trust many of us can return to work reinvigorated, ready to put up-and-coming innovations to work in the new year.
At Christian Children’s Fund of Canada, we’ve been planning for our new fiscal year — which begins in April — but we’re already implementing new ideas, and part of that is ensuring we are providing donors with the best experience.
So, soon we’ll be bringing stories from the field (and our head office) directly to donor’s in-boxes, showing through text and video how donations are making a difference. We want to bring a sponsored child's reality to life for donors who don’t get to visit communities and see the challenges and victories many of our staff see while working in the field.
At home, we’ll continue to ramp up social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), engaging with the online community as up-to-the-minute as possible, even offering live, interactive feeds. We seek to be transparent — one of the reasons we earned an A- rating on this year’s “MoneySense Charity 100” report.
Above all, it’s our goal to help as many children as we can. It’s a joy volunteering at an organization dedicated to the goodwill of others, but we are nothing without our committed staff, partners and donors. Thank you to everyone for making such a positive difference in the lives of so many in 2016. Let’s work together to make 2017 brighter for so many more.
In the meantime, drop me a line at the email above, if you have any suggestions for how we can improve your experience with us.
Best wishes for a healthy and inspiring new year.
