MARKHAM, Ont. — It was a time of sharing news about field work as well as good eats and lots of Christmas cheer, as Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) launched its first annual Mix and Jingle at its headquarters in Markham, Ont.
“The idea was to bring donors, partners and community members together to share details about CCFC’s work,” said Bonar Bell, communications manager and event organizer. “A series of four interactive stations informed guests about our recent Small Voices, Big Dreams report in which more than 6,000 children from 41 countries were surveyed about education.”
Guests were interested to hear about what children love about school, how safe they feel at school, what they would do if they were in charge and the challenges that keep them from attending school. Many gathered around a set of virtual reality goggles, showing a 360 view of an Indian village narrated by a former sponsored child (created by our partner, ChildFund International); others sent notes of encouragement to children in India.
In the end, it was clear CCFC is working to ensure children can attend school, learn about the world around them and be empowered to make a future for themselves. To help these children reach their full potential, visit ccfcanada.ca/gift-catalogue and make the difference in a life.
