A Mother’s Day tribute
CCFC announces the winner of our social media Mother’s Day contest
TORONTO — “My mom was always my best supporter and greatest listener,” Colleen Cole tweeted in response to Christian Children’s Fund of Canada’s (CCFC) Mother’s Day’s contest, which asked our social listeners to share why their mom is their friend.
It was loving memory of a woman who spent her life helping others. “My mom passed away last year,” Cole told us. “One of her life-long passions was to knit and crochet hats and mitts for newborns. She supported the hospital in Hamilton, Ont. She never took a penny for any of her work, and if someone insisted on paying her, she donated the money to charity.”
Grace, a loving mother, supported so many babies. It’s a fitting tribute that CCFC will help a pregnant mother in one of our six countries of operation deliver and care for her new baby in her name.
Colleen’s tweet received the most attention on Twitter. Thanks to everyone who shared their love for their moms through the #MyFriendMyMom contest.
