A new solar-powered borehole well brings clean water to more than 7,000
WANTUGU, Ghana — A dirt-lined pond tinted with a brown hue and polluted by surrounding cow droppings was the only water source for the Wantugu community until CCFC and partners built a solar-powered borehole well, among other initiatives.
Now more than 7,000 people, including children, have access to clean water. “Children can access potable water [and] wash their hands after using the toilet,” said William Anim-Dankwa, CCFC communications manager, Ghana.
