“CCFC carried me, now I’m giving back”
Former CCFC-supported youth becomes a teacher near Savulagu, Ghana

It’s strange how such a small gesture can leave such an indelible impression. That was the case with the man in this photo I came across while reminiscing about my recent trip to Ghana.
As a youth, Ibrahim Adam dreamt of becoming a professional teacher. He volunteered as one in Sandu, a community near the district capital of Savulagu. CCFC supported Adam for many years so he could attend a teacher-training institution to earn a diploma.
Now a professional teacher in Sandu, Adam is pursuing a university degree. The child in his arms is Majeed, a boy who lost his father. Ibrahim picked up the sleeping Majeed as he was rounding up children for class at the local school. “CCFC carried me, now I’m giving back,” he told me as he prepared to shepherd the next generation in his community for another day.
