Marking five years of conflict in Syria
UNICEF Canada’s David Morley discusses the effects of the conflict on children
MONTREAL — Nearly three-million children living in Syria have only known conflict, according to a Radio Canada International interview with UNICEF’S David Morley about the fifth-year anniversary of the Syrian conflict.
Now, an estimated three-million children are not attending school and are in danger, but there is hope for a future for this “lost generation.” UNICEF is creating child-friendly spaces to nurture development in a positive place. “When we build them it’s amazing the difference they make,” said Morley, president of UNICEF Canada.
