DUCA asks public to vote on CCFC project to fund
Help the credit union decide where to donate $25,000
Dec. 4, 2015
TORONTO — Toronto-based DUCA Financial Services Credit Union is preparing to donate $25,000 to a Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) project, but they need your help.
For the third year in a row, the DUCA team is asking the public to vote on their favourite project based on made-in-country video requests. “This is a way to engage people in two important endeavours: one is DUCA’s practice of ‘Fair Trade Banking’ whereby we prioritize supporting people and communities worldwide and the other is the CCFC’s important work,” said Richard Senechal, president and CEO, DUCA.
For this year’s competition, the focus is on early childhood education (ECE), and four of CCFC’s countries of operation have submitted videos for consideration. Nicaragua is vying for the chance to provide digital technology, such as tablets, to students; Ethiopia is hoping to provide sustainable nutritional support; Paraguay is proposing a project that encourages families to establish regular reading times; and India is looking to establish learning corners.
Watch the videos below, and visit ccfcanada.ca/innovation-fund by Dec. 31 to vote for the winner.
Ethiopia – Food for thought
Nicaragua – Learning in the digital age
India – Know, do, live, be
