Terrance M. Slobodian
Vice President, Fund Development and Communications

Terry serves as Vice President, Fund Development and Communications for Christian Children’s Fund of Canada. He is the senior executive responsible for all domestic marketing, fund development, communications and public relations strategies and operations. He is also the executive lead on three strategic priorities – brand revitalization, digital transformation and growing and diversifying our revenue streams in order to increase our global social impact.

Terry left a successful accounting management career with a Fortune 500 company to apply his skills and abilities to make an impact on the lives of people and communities. A Time magazine cover photo of a hungry child in India cemented Terry Slobodian’s commitment to vulnerable children and families around the world. The boy from India’s distressing photo affirmed to Terry that international development would remain a lifelong pursuit. Over the span of his career he has had the opportunity to hold senior executive positions in the university, hospital and health sectors.

He has eight years of international child development experience, living and working in Bratislava, Slovakia, Moscow and Geneva. While living abroad in Eastern Europe, he created an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that continues to provide thousands of underprivileged inner-city youth with the opportunity to experience the joy of sports. Terry is also a pioneer in micro-enterprise development, having helped establish an NGO to provide loans, training and mentorship to some of Eastern Europe’s earliest entrepreneurs.

Terry is an Alumni of Distinction of the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and has almost completed a Master in Business Administration from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Terry and his wife, Wanda, are the parents of five grown children, grandparents to one grandchild, and parents to Hogan, the family dog.
