Director, Christian Children's Fund of Canada (CCFC) Board of Directors
Paul Newbigging joined the Christian Children’s Fund of Canada’s Board of Directors in October 1997 and served as Chair of the Board from 2001 to 2011. He is a member of the Nominating Committee. Newbigging is the President and Chair of the Board of Broadcorp, a private real estate investment fund, the owner operator of the Murray E. Newbigging Funeral Home in Toronto, Ontario, and an active member of the funeral services community in Ontario and Canada. As President for both the Funeral Directors for Open Dialogue and the Toronto and District Funeral Directors Association, Newbigging has been instrumental in shaping changes to funeral services legislation in Ontario. He is also a founding member of the Coalition of Funeral Professionals in Canada, and the Chairman of Transition Sciences Inc., a cleantech company offering alternatives to the Canadian funeral industry.
Newbigging was educated at Meistershaft College, York University and Humber College. As a lecturer in their health sciences program, Humber College has honoured him with the Alumni of Distinction Award and a nomination for the Premier of Ontario Award for his ongoing support.
In addition to his work with both Christian Children’s Fund of Canada and ChildFund Alliance (a worldwide group of 12 child-focused development organizations working in 58 countries to implement long-lasting and meaningful changes for children and families), Newbigging also volunteers with several organizations in his Toronto community.
