Jessie Morrison
Vice President, Human Resources

After more than 30 years of human resources experience in the for-profit sector, Jessie Morrison joined Christian Children’s Fund of Canada, “in order to satisfy my deep desire to work for an organization that is seeking to change the world.”

Jessie is charged with supporting the executive team to shape the culture and future of CCFC, selecting the most skilled and qualified candidates who have a passion for children’s causes, and leading strategies to drive highly engaged and motivated employees across the organization.

As a member of the senior leadership team, Jessie weighs in on the human resources implications of all major organizational decisions affecting employees. She leads and implements progressive human resources strategies including organizational design and effectiveness, diversity, workforce planning, talent acquisition and development, employee and labor relations, compensation and workforce management.

In her travels to Central and South America, Africa and Asia, Jessie has witnessed the struggles of vulnerable children and families seeking to become self-reliant. After visiting her first sponsored child in Burkina Faso – where the family wanted to raise pigs as a way to make a living but had no way to do it, Jessie was pleased to see how the family was able to thrive after a modest gift of two pigs. The family soon sold its third litter of pigs, keeps chickens and is now more self-sufficient. Jessie’s philanthropy also extended to supporting the building of a library and materials for schools in Paraguay and Ethiopia and using Super-Garden technology to improve vegetable production in Burkina Faso and India.

Prior to joining CCFC, Jessie served in human resources at Bank of Montreal, Enbridge and Consumers Gas. She has an extensive background in project management, change management strategies as well as employee relations and recruitment. She is a strong advocate of embedding HR in the organization as a thought partner for strategic change. Jessie holds a Bachelor degree in Religious Education from the Ontario Bible College and is a Certified Human Resources Professional. She has been involved in numerous community volunteer activities over the years.
