A global citizen and world traveller, Aki has lived in Africa, Finland and the U.K., among other locales, having immersed himself in different cultures and jobs involved in helping children reach their full potential.
He’s a 15-year veteran to senior roles in the non-profit sector with experience at World Vision, ChildFund International and Right to Play, among other organizations.
At Christian Children’s Fund of Canada, Aki leads domestic marketing, fund development, branding, communications and public relations.
What academic work set him up for success?
The interim chief development officer earned his masters of science in international marketing from Finland’s Aalto University.
Fluent in three languages — Finnish, English and Swedish — after spending time around the world, Aki loves Toronto where he can enjoy a good game of hockey and time wandering the city with his family.
