Aid to Africa

Through Christian Children’s Fund of Canada you can provide aid to Africa, especially to children living in extreme poverty . We provide sustainable development and keep children healthy and secure. CCFC has projects in African countries including Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana and Tanzania, as well as in other countries such as India, Nicaragua and Paraguay.

Sponsor Now

Sponsoring a child in Africa or making a donation are the two best ways to provide families and communities with clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, food, medicine, education, and other resources that support and teach self-sustainability.

Access to Clean Water

Our work in Africa provides access to clean water and sanitation facilities in homes, schools and communities. We provide basic technologies such as protected springs, borewells and rainwater harvesting tanks, which give children and families direct access to safe, clean potable water.

Parents and children are educated on the topic of hygiene and are taught how to construct toilets and keep them functioning effectively. Find out more about our projects and how you can provide access to clean safe potable water.

Food

Aid to Africa also comes in the form of life-sustaining food. Our ongoing work over the last 50 years has helped countless communities become self-sufficient. However, many still need help. In some cases, poverty is so extreme that families cannot afford to buy or even grow their own food.  See our gift catalogue for a selection of tools that can enable families to produce their own food such as seeds to start a garden, chickens to lay eggs, or goats and cows for nutritious milk.

Medicine

CCFC offers specific programs to assist the children of Africa in combating various illnesses and diseases. In 2010, the total of orphaned children reached 20 million in Africa alone; due to AIDS. In addition to this tragic outcome, many babies are born having already contracted the disease. Through your aid to Africa, CCFC can ensure that these children receive proper medical attention and necessary medical supplies. Equally significant, CCFC can provide education on the facts about AIDS and, perhaps most importantly, the prevention of HIV/AIDS. In 2004, 46.4% of Burkina Faso’s entire population was killed by HIV/AIDS. Together we can stop this tragedy, and help inhibit this illness from taking so many lives.

Through CCFC’s projects, important vaccines for preventable childhood diseases are made available. In 2002, measles alone killed more than 1 million children. With the aid to Africa provided through child sponsorship and donations, today, that number has dropped to less than 500,000.
