Empower Mothers and End the Cycle of Poverty

Empower Mothers and End the Cycle of Poverty

Mothers from the Nazareth sponsorship program in Ethiopia will be given a very exciting opportunity. Thirty mothers will be provided with the appropriate training and support to start their own poultry income generating business.

Selection will be based on each mothers income and ability to provide for their families. Priority will be given to low or no income families.

This is an opportunity for you to empower a mother and to permanently reshape her family’s future.

But this project can only happen if we have your support today.

Christian Children's Fund of Canada’s Mico-Enterprise Development (MED) programs work at a grassroots level with individuals, especially women, to ensure funding gets to the people who need it most. Our MED programs help approximately 4,000 people each year to develop new skill sets, and provide the job training and materials necessary to invest in their futures. Selling grain at a market stall, running a small cafe, or implementing new poultry farming techniques are simple but effective ways for parents to take the first step towards being able to feed, clothe, educate, and care for their family.

For $125 you can provide a mother in need the opportunity to become self-sufficient and end the cycle of poverty.

Your generous gift will help fund:

  • Business skills training

  • Technical assistance and training from the Micro and Small Enterprise Development Office

  • Expert knowledge from the Agricultural Office; where they will ensure the flock remains healthy

  • Financial support and startup funds

We encourage you to donate to this project as its success will enable us to offer this to more families in the future. Please note, mothers from this community not selected to take part in the project will also benefit greatly, as they will be included in any training provided.

Thank you for your continued support!

In cases where donations exceed what is needed or where local conditions prevent program implementation, CCFC will redirect funds to similar activities to help people-in-need.
