Nothing makes sponsored children feel more special or loved than when they receive letters from their sponsors. All over the world, sponsored children love getting letters or cards from their sponsors - it does wonders for their self-esteem! Take a few minutes to write a letter and let them know you're thinking of them!
Here are some letter-writing tips:
- Talk about your family, home, job/school and city.
- Send photographs or postcards.
- Learn about your child's country. This will show your child that you care and give you common topics of interest to write about.
- Always use the child's name and I.D. number followed by the child's complete address.
- Send letters directly to your child, (to protect your privacy, please refrain from including your return address).
- Try to avoid mentioning things your child may never possess, such as new cars or homes and luxurious holidays.
Your sponsored child's mailing address is printed on their profile on the inside cover.
Don't be discouraged if you don't get an immediate response; rudimentary postal facilities, long distances, cultural differences, and translations can delay correspondence.
