We are proud to say that Kolkata, India, is self-sufficient thanks to your support.
It can now provide basic necessities such as food, water, shelter and other vital provisions to its children and families.
To sustain this growth, a parents committee has been established to manage, plan and coordinate community activities.
Kolkata's graduation is a result of 31 years of work by our partner organization, the Assembly of God (AOG).
Today, many of the sponsored children who participated in the Kolkata program are settled in life, some have become pastors, teachers, doctors, nurses, accountants, lawyers and IT professionals.
Before CCFC and AGO began working in Kolkata, poverty was a life-threatening ordeal. Many children suffered from severe malnutrition and illnesses. Most families lived in sub-standard housing with few basic services.
CCFC provided life changing services for many children like books, stationery, school uniforms, shoes and socks, and meals five days a week. Initially 2,000 children were supported by CCFC in eight projects through the AOG mission.
Together, we have done what was seemingly impossible. We have broken the cycle of poverty for the children of Kolkata, their families and a whole community.
After analyzing this success, CCFC and AOG agree that they leave Kolkata a happy and healthy community. They must now move to another needy community in India.
Thank you again for helping Kolkata break the cycle of poverty!
