Paraguay venture with Taiwan will pave the way for sustainable development in impoverished communities.
Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) and the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF), a child-focused international development organization, have partnered together to implement two new development programs in the community of Ypane and in the state of Caaguazu, Paraguay. These programs will provide education for children, healthcare, proper water and sanitation facilities and will give families the tools and skills they need to break the cycle of poverty and replace it with self-reliance.
We are excited about our joint venture with another international development organization like TFCF and what this will mean for hundreds of sponsored children. This partnership will allow us to target the areas in Paraguay where the need is the greatest and, with the support TFCF brings, together we will be able to positively impact the entire state in the years to come.
CCFC began working in Paraguay over 10 years ago providing much needed development to rural areas outside of the capital of Asunción. The country has been scheduled for growth and was proposed to be the country of focus for TFCF. The Ypane and Caaguazu programs areas are dedicated TFCF programs and have already reached out to over 300 children. Further program growth in each of these programs is slated to begin shortly and will involve helping another thousand children in the state of Caaguazu.
With such great need, we have been eager to expand our work in Paraguay to reach out to more children, families and communities. With Paraguay being one of the few nations to recognize Taiwan’s independence and the strong links there, this partnership with TFCF was a win win for everybody – especially for those living in poverty.
CCFC would like to thank TFCF and the hundreds of Taiwanese sponsors who have helped to make this partnership successful.
