New Sanitation Facilities In Nicaragua Benefiting Over 1,400 Children

In the villages of Las Torres and Hilario Sánchez in Nicaragua, over 1,400 children from five different schools returned from school break to find new and much needed sanitation facilities.

The conditions at each of the schools were beyond repair. Some children were forced to miss school due to infection and illness. Sanitation facilities were so poor that some children preferred not to use the facilities at all.

Close access to clean water and hygienic sanitation facilities frees up time and reduces the threat of illness. Children can stay in school and pursue their education. Their new facilities included new toilets, wash basins, all new piping and a new roof.

Children and their parents were educated about hygiene, toilet construction, and managing water resources efficiently. CCFC believes it's not only important that families have access to water and sanitation facilities, but also the skills needed to fix them when broken.

It has been said 'water is life'. In our mind, clean water is the key to a better life.

Water facilities are needed in many more projects. If you would like to donate to this sector of work please visit our donation page.
