International African Child Day

In line with the International African Child Day, held each June 16, CCFC mobilized the children of Koupela with a week long activities of promotion of child rights. The pinnacle of the event was obtained June 15 with the presence of local authorities including the Mayor of Koupela.

Educating parents and children alike on child rights was among the goals set for a week long celebration dedicated to children. Over that period, the children of Koupela in Burkina Faso were celebrated with a series of activities including public conferences, radio shows, soccer tournaments, theater and girl only competitions to raise awareness of child rights. Lecturers delivered included topics on child rights, the role and importance of Child Parliament and the intent of celebrating the International African Child Day. The highlight of the week included a visit by the Mayor of Koupela, the Social Action Director in the province and his colleague of Basic Education.
