Christian Children's Fund of Canada (CCFC) commemorated the day of the African child in Mahadaga in the rural district of Logobou, Burkina Faso. Through theatre, a conference on the promotion of the rights of the child, and the presentation of provisions to orphans, the event financed by CCFC spoke out against violence to children. The highlight of the day was the conference given by the provincial director of social action and national solidarity of Tapoa. This conference had the participation of many parents from all the villages of Logobou.
Current economic and social conditions dictate that the road for children to fully enjoy their rights will still be long. But all believe that, by working together, parents will win the battle. CCFC, which works for the protection and the promotion of the rights of the child, currently sponsors 693 children in Mahadaga. It plans to extend this sponsorship to at least 2000 children. Many women actively participated in the debates on the topic of the promotion and protection of the rights of the child to Burkina Faso.
