Learning Through Play In Burkina Faso

The Learning Through Play (LTP) activities in Burkina Faso have included the following, the translation of materials, primarily the Learning Through Play calendars, from English into Moore. Special follow-up forms were created for home visits and home visits were conducted. A consolidated action plan was created to enable the dissemination of the program at partner level.

Technical Support
Regarding training topics, themes included “Brain Development” and “Attachment and the Five Stages of Growth”. These training sessions have enabled women to better understand the themes and to strengthen pedagogical skills. 

To follow up on training sessions, home visits are conducted. During home visits, monitors check for understanding of the information delivered during training sessions. Further, monitors check whether or not the techniques and knowledge delivered in the training sessions is being utilized in the home setting.

General Information

  • 300 families received Learning Through Play training.
  • 300 families received home visits from staff in order to ensure that the concepts taught are being put into practice.
  • 600 Learning Through Play calendars were printed and distributed to 300 families.
