Here are some ideas of events.
Informal lunch or dinner
Have an informal lunch or dinner with modestly priced food and drinks. The money collected from sales would be donated to CCFC. This is a great event for friends, family, co-workers and the community. You get to have fun talking, eating and laughing while also helping children around the world to live happier lives.
Car wash
Get permission from a school, church, business, or other organization to use their parking lot for washing cars.
With a few basic tools, you're ready to provide an important service to drivers, while supporting life-saving work through CCFC.
Half-N'-Half Birthday Party
Parents are often surprised at how knowledgeable their own children are about the needs of poor children around the world.
One way to instil a sense of generosity in your children, and help them make a difference, is by asking them to throw a Half-N'-Half Birthday Party.
Children are asked to donate half the money they would have spent on a birthday gift to a child overseas.
Parents can also help children overseas by choosing an item from the CCFC Gift Catalogue.
Sports event
Host a sporting event of your choice (i.e. basketball, soccer, football, hockey, baseball, etc.) and charge for tickets and food.
Auction
Collect items, either your own or from a sponsor, and auction them off. You can auction old furniture, gift certificates, even food made for the auction.
Service auction
Instead of items, you could auction off services. For example, one person could auction the service of mowing the lawn or shovelling snow. Another person could auction two months of piano lessons. The possibilities for either an item or service auction are endless.
Movie night
Have a movie night at your house where you charge for admission and/or popcorn.
Walk-a-thon
Encourage friends, family, co-workers and others in your neighbourhood to get active and make a difference by participating in a walk-a-thon.
All they need to do is get as many sponsors as they can. They will give you the money they raised and you will donate it to CCFC.
Barbecues
Have a barbecue and charge for food and drinks.
Garage sale
Collect items around the house that you don't use anymore and put them to good use by selling them in garage sale.
Provide services
You could rake leaves, mow the lawn, shovel the snow, cook for a neighbour, drive others, baby-sit, style hair or any other service to help others. You would charge a fee for these services.
Fundraising ideas for schools
Easter Gits of Hope
Get your Sunday School or Kids Club to participate in purchasing chickens for families around the world who are caught in the cycle of poverty. The children will learn a powerful lesson about sharing God’s love with other children in need. Click here to learn more.
Talent show/competition
You could work with a school, extracurricular club or group of friends to put on a talent show/competition that will attract members of the school or community.
Money collected through admission fees could be donated to CCFC.
Bake sale
Raise funds by holding a bake sale.
Get together with friends and family members to bake a variety of delicious treats. Afterward, find a venue with a lot of space to display food items such as a school cafeteria or gymnasium. Your guests will thank you for the wonderful treats and CCFC will thank you for making a lasting difference.
Hold a contest
You could have any kind of contest to raise funds for CCFC. Trivia, spelling, math, chess, checkers, or any other fun contest can be used. Participants would pay an entry fee to take part in the contest.
