What is included in the price of a gift?
Gift amounts include the actual cost of the item, administrative costs associated with purchasing in country and/or delivering an item or carrying out the service.
It reflects the total amount needed to make that specific activity happen, whether it's shipping and distributing pharmaceuticals, or building a well in a community in Africa.
How will my gift be delivered to the recipient in the field?
Gift items are selected based on project goals submitted by our offices around the world.
Many of the items in the Catalogue are part of ongoing programs, so gifts are distributed or services carried out on a continual basis throughout the year.
With larger items, such as building a well or rain-water harvesting tank, our field staff will be notified when those gifts are purchased. Building will begin once funds are received and resources are in place to begin construction.
Can I choose which country to send my gift?
Gifts have been selected for the Gift Catalogue based on the needs and goals of our field projects. We aim to help those families and children who need us the most, and therefore gifts are sent to the most appropriate locations and communities.
Can I send a gift from the Gift Catalogue to my sponsored child?
Gifts featured in the Catalogue are part of specific programs in the countries identified and we are not able to send them to specific sponsored children.
If you would like to provide a gift for your sponsored child, call 1-800-263-5437 extension 610. Our project staff will work with the family of your sponsored child to choose a gift that meets their needs. You will then receive an acknowledgement of your gift, stating how the gift was applied.
What happens if more gifts are purchased than are needed in the field?
If the total amount received for a particular item exceeds funding needs for that project, your gift will provide similar assistance to people in different communities or will be used to meet additional needs in that same project.
For example, if too many school books are purchased, that extra money may go towards purchasing pens and pencils or purchasing books for other countries.
How quickly will my gift card(s) be sent?
You have the option of choosing an electronic gift card or a traditional mailed card based on your request. For electronic cards (ecards), you have the ability to set the date of the card’s delivery. You may send it instantly or set a pre-determined date in the future. For traditional cards our standard processing time is 3 to 5 business days. Regardless of what option is selected, you can be assured that your card will arrive in a timely manner.
Will I receive a receipt for my gift, and is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes, your gifts are tax deductible. You will be mailed an official receipt for income tax purposes by the end of February the following year for any donation made over $10.00.
What happens if there are not enough donations to cover the cost of an item?
If not enough donations are received to cover the full cost of an item through the Gift Catalogue, donations will be pooled with other funding sources from CCFC to meet the goals of that project.

Can I receive a photo or report on my gift after it has been delivered?
Unfortunately, due to prohibitive costs and administration required to report on each individual gift, we cannot provide photos and stories on each and every individual gift.
We will report back to you through our numerous publications in either print or online, about the gift catalogue program and how the gifts are being used.
How will my loved one know I have purchased a gift for them?
If you selected an electronic card, CCFC will automatically email a gift acknowledgment to the honouree's email address. However if you selected the option to mail a card. CCFC will mail a card to the address you provide during the checkout process.
