Sponsored children at risk – urgent help needed!
Over 180,000 people in two of Christian Children’s Fund of Canada’s (CCFC) countries of operation, Burkina Faso and Ghana, have been affected by severe torrential rains and floods.
Rains began falling earlier this month in West Africa, depositing about one-quarter of Burkina Faso’s annual rainfall on the capital, Ouagadougou, in just one day.
Crops are ruined, houses are destroyed and people are in need of food and basic necessities like blankets, clothes and cooking pots.
Some CCFC program areas in these countries have been hit hard and are suffering the damages caused by the flood. 53,000 people have been relocated to temporary shelters. Others are remaining near or in their damaged homes.
Based on the heart-breaking stories of devastation communicated by our front-line staff and partners, CCFC advanced some of the needed emergency funds for supplies of food, children’s clothing, blankets, buckets, lamps, and cooking sets.
Your help is desperately needed today to help even more families before disease and hunger-related deaths take place.
Your emergency gift of $500, $100, $50 or whatever you can give will be used to bring life-saving essentials to suffering children in our communities.
Beyond the immediate emergency relief, we will also use funds collected to provide other supplies like sleeping mats and mosquito nets as families seek protection in temporary shelters.
Please help children, families and communities survive the coming weeks and re-build for the future now that they’ve lost their food supplies, homes and basic possessions.
Thank you, on behalf of the children in Burkina Faso and Ghana.

In cases where donations exceed what is needed or where local conditions prevent program implementation, CCFC will redirect funds to similar activities to help people-in-need.
