On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, killing thousands. The powerful earthquake caused major damage to the Caribbean nation already struggling with political violence and poverty. 85% of the Haitian population is among the poorest in the western hemisphere. Given their daily struggle for survival, the earthquake victims now face an even grimmer future.
Communications are extremely difficult and accurate information is still scarce, it is clear that the consequences are severe and many children are among the victims. Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) is urging Canadians to support the relief efforts in Haiti. We are joining forces with a partner on the ground in Haiti and are currently accepting donations on behalf of the Haitian earthquake victims.
Please make a donation and help the Haiti earthquake victims. All donations received by February 12th, will be doubled by the Canadian Government.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families whose lives have been so terribly impacted by this tragedy.
To sponsor a child from Latin American (Nicaragua, Paraguay) please click here.
In cases where donations exceed what is needed or where local conditions prevent program implementation, CCFC will redirect funds to similar activities to help people-in-need.
