Six year old Anner needs your help!

At six years old, Anner should not have to fear for his life, simply walking to school. But, in Belén, Nicaragua, children are forced to decide between attending school or walking through disease-ridden flood waters for half the year. When education is the only escape from poverty, parents reluctantly send their children to school despite the danger.

During the long rainy season, the deep ditches around their village flood and breed disease. The pathetic low lying and rotting wood planks that serve as a bridge do nothing to protect Anner and his friends from the flood waters and contaminated debris. They really have no choice – school or their safety. When the flood waters get too high the children stay home from school. It’s simply too dangerous!
