Dalhousie University Professor Becomes Board Chair at Christian Children’s Fund of Canada
Dr. Robert G. Blunden, associate professor of strategic management and family enterprise at Dalhousie University, has devoted years of study to business, strategic planning, and the family. As founder and principal consultant at Blunden and Associates he also assists families in business internationally.
That’s why it seemed a natural fit when the Halifax resident became the board chair for a charity that helps children and families in developing countries.
“Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) has been doing great work for more than 50 years, providing clean water to communities, healthcare to sick children, and small business loans to individuals who need help providing for their families,” says Dr. Blunden, who has served on the board since 2005 and sponsors a 12-year old girl from Sri Lanka with the charity.
Dr. Blunden holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University, a Master of Management degree from Northwestern University, and a PhD from the University of Western Ontario. His international teaching, consulting, and research activities have taken him to China, Latvia, Russia, Hungary, and Jamaica.
“Visiting different countries makes you realize that there is always more work to be done in the fight against poverty,” says Dr. Blunden. “I am honoured that I can play a part in helping CCFC grow and make a positive difference in the lives of those in need.”
