Director, Human Resources

Position Summary
Reporting to the CEO, and being a contributing member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director, Human Resources is a strategic business partner responsible for the leadership, development, management and effective delivery of all aspects of Human Resources management in Canada and all other countries of operation.

This role is responsible for the execution of a Human Resources strategy that supports the overall organizational strategy and business unit plans. The Director participates in creating and sustaining an organization that fosters a highly engaged, accountable, performance oriented workforce whose work is aligned with strategy, mission and values. This is accomplished by pro-actively identifying human resource requirements, then developing and implementing policies, procedures, systems and action plans that achieve measurable outcomes. This position is responsible for the delivery of Human Resource initiatives, including:

• Organizational Development and Design

• Employer Branding and Employee Relations

• Policy, Legislative Compliance and Best Practices

• Talent Recruitment, Retention and Management

• Performance Optimization

• Total Compensation

• Health & Safety

• Risk Management

• Training and Development

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation
  • Minimum 10 years progressive HR Generalist experience with at least five of those years in a senior HR management role
  • Demonstrated leadership and development of direct reports
  • Experience delivering HR programs and services in a highly diverse, de-centralized organization
  • Proven skills assessing long-term organizational goals and developing solutions to maximize opportunities, remove obstacles and manage risk
  • Effective at communicating at all levels of the organization, including staff, colleagues, CEO, Board of Directors
  • Proven ability to demonstrate sensitivity, diplomacy, confidentiality, good judgment and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable legislation governing employment practices.
  • Ability to travel into developing countries, which may involve harsh and demanding environments, up to three times per year
  • Demonstrated commitment to CCFC’s Vision, Mission and Values
